Sheila Lyne’s diverse practice includes printmaking, handbuilding ceramics, textile and making handmade paper. Her work is experimental, process driven and working in a series, which leads to the next discovery, the tweaking and improving of techniques and inspiring new directions.

Sheila is inspired by a strong sense of place which is Kiama on the South Coast. The marine environment: the ocean, rocky cliffs, geography, fauna and flora greatly influence her work.

After a career in the corporate world, formal studies in history, literature, botany and horticulture, Sheila obtained a Diploma of Fine Art with distinction in Printmaking.
