Britta Stenmanns

Britta studied Graphic Design in Dusseldorf followed by a three year woodcarving apprenticeship in Bavaria. She set up a studio for 4 months in London and for several years in Madrid and Deya, Spain. In 1994, Britta completed a Diploma of painting at the School of Fine Arts in Bremen, Germany, followed by a year doing postgraduate studies in painting and printmaking at the Academia San Carlos in Mexico City.

Stenmanns’ artistic practice has taken her to London, Madrid, Deya, Spain and Mexico City.


In 2007 Britta was selected for Sculpture by the Sea in Bondi. Britta was a finalist in the SILK CUT AWARDS for relief prints. She has had eight solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in Germany, Spain, Mexico, France, Poland, Belgium and Australia, and her work is represented in various Private and Public Collections in Spain, Poland, Germany, Australia (including at Australian National University ANU/Vario-exchange) and the USA.


2013 she won the Outdoor Sculpture Prize at Bowral District Art Society, Bowral judged by Susanne Archer and in 2016 the Wingecarribee Landscape Prize judged by Bernard Ollis.
