  Tony Ameneiro

Ameneiro is an artist-printmaker-educator, working across the areas of intaglio, lithography and relief. Having studied education and art at the Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education in Sydney (1979-81) he currently teaches printmaking at Wollongong West T.A.F.E.

Ameneiro has exhibited his prints in Australia and the United States. He has received several awards including the 2007 Fremantle Print Award, the longest running and largest print prize in Australia. Twice included in the prestigious Dobell Drawing Prize a national annual drawing survey, held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney. His commissions include the 2001 and 2006 Annual Member Print Commission for the Australian Print Council.

His work has been collected by several major institutions including the Art Gallery of NSW, Queensland Art Gallery, The Art Gallery of South Australia and the State Library of Victoria. His works are also included in several major regional gallery and university art collections.
