Julie Krone

Julie Krone’s practice is based on her interest in cultural issues of identity. Born in the South Island of Aotearoa NZ, her work explores what it means to be Pakeha (white European) growing up alongside a rich indigenous culture (Maori). Moving to Australia in 1993, the distance from her homeland has allowed her to reflect on this experience.

Julie has a BA (Honours) and a Master of Visual Art from Sydney University.

She has exhibited in many exhibitions with her most recent solo exhibitions being mod-u-lar-ised at The Tin Sheds, Sydney University, 2008. mis-translated at Wollongong City Gallery, 2009 and fabricated at James Dorahy Project Space 2009.

Her work is represented in numerous private and public collections in Australia and New Zealand.

Julie is represented by James Doraghy Project Space.
